Community Practice offers routine dental care for our patients. Our dental service offers routine dental cleaning, dental radiographs along with simple and complex tooth extractions.

How will I know if my pet has dental disease?

The first sign is often bad breath, you may also notice redness along the gum line, tartar, calculus, or they may be eating slower or more carefully than they used to. Periodontal disease is the most common ailment of small animals. This begin when bacteria accumulates at the gum line around the tooth. Unless brushed away daily, these bacteria can cause inflammation, bleeding, and if untreated, can cause tooth and/or bone loss.

As part of our Wellness appointments, we will evaluate your pet's teeth and will recommend an oral healthcare plan. If a dental cleaning and oral examination is necessary, general anesthesia is required. Anesthesia is performed by a combination of Board Certified Anesthesiologists, residents, technicians and senior veterinary students.

Appointments

If we determine your pet needs a dental we will have you schedule an appointment to drop them off (between 7:30-8:00am) on a Monday or Friday. Our dental patients are able to go home the same day as their dental procedure.
