Neurology/Neurosurgery Residency

The Ohio State University Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences offers a post-DVM residency program in neurology/neurosurgery that provides advanced clinical training and specialization in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases in animals under the supervision of recognized specialists. The standard program is a three-year combined residency and graduate studies program leading to a certificate of residency and a Master of Science degree.

The goals of the program are to allow the resident to:

  1. Develop comprehensive, state-of-the art expertise and clinical proficiency in comparative veterinary neurology and neurosurgery;
  2. Satisfy the criteria necessary to qualify for Board Certification, and to prepare the resident for successful completion of the Neurology Specialty Certification Examination;
  3. Prepare for a future in specialized practice, teaching, or clinical research; and
  4. Attain a Master of Science degree in a specific area of research endeavor.
